~Staging Disasters, - Circumnavigating Cairo’s Ring Road
An ethnographic research project investigating Cairo's Ring Road, a platform that is driving the informal economy of the city. Our fieldwork included circumnavigating the road by foot and through its various unique transport systems as means of engaging with the narrative of it’s actors: street vendors, construction workers, pedestrians, bus drivers, estate agents and passersby. The research observes the invisible entanglement of social and anarchistic economic structures within a speculative real-estate landscape as a post-revolution response.
